Amino Acid Therapy for Multiple Sclerosis

Treating Multiple Sclerosis (MS) with ordinary amino acids can be accomplished with Quantum Orthomolecular Medicine. Large doses of naturally found proteins called amino acids can restore the body's ability to produce normal levels of hormones and neurotransmitters. These amino acids are affordable and are used in therapeutic doses much larger than those levels normally found in food. The concept of orthomolecular medicine is based upon the use of very large doses of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, or botanical extracts for the cellular repair and enhancement of normal activities.

Multiple Sclerosis has many issues that can be treated with amino acid therapy. Brain fog, mental alertness, muscle fatigue, low energy, poor memory, cognitive disorders, nerve speed, brain function, and spinal cord function. MS may be diagnosed when there are lesions found in the brain or the spinal column. Genetic tests can also be used to diagnose MS. DNA is damaged by this very serious disease. The amino acids can repair genetic material that is not operating correctly in the cell. This is not a magic bullet for this disease. This is a treatment that can help slow the progression of the disease or place it into remission. This is not a cure in its current form. Amino acid therapy in IV form may have the potential in the future to prevent the onset of the disease for those given a genetic test that provides a diagnosis prior to the onset of symptoms and formation of lesions. This amino acid IV will need additional products added to the amino acids.

There are many MS patients with hormone problems that can be helped with orthomolecular medicine. Hormone imbalances can be balanced with amino acids or bio-identical hormones for women in menopause. MS patients reaching menopause have symptoms worsen due to lower hormone levels. Important factors for this include addressing key issues like pollutants, heavy metal poisoning, PCB's in plastics, food allergies, and poor diets. Refrain from placing food in plastic containers into the microwave. The microwave can release these plastics into the food. This causes the plastics to interfere with estrogens in the body. Use glass rather than plastic to store items in the refrigerator. Do not drink bottled water after it has been sitting in your trunk or car in the hot sun. This releases the plastics into the bottled water.

Essential fatty acids are frequently insufficient in the diet of a person with MS, menopause, and andropause. The fatty acids needed are Omega 3, Omega 6, and Omega 9. Try to include a variety of essential fatty acids into your diet such as salmon, pecans, walnuts, flaxseed, avocados, walnut oil, olive oil, almond oil, pumpkin seeds, and sunflower seeds. The nerve's myelin sheath and nerve transmission are impaired when the body has inadequate essential fatty acids. Quantum molecular medicine uses very large quantities of alpha lipoic acid to improve nerve function. There is another therapy utilized along with supplements to repair nerve function.

Amino acid therapy is useful in improving unbalanced hormone levels and neurotransmitters. The amino acids used are theanine, 5-HTP, arginine, and carnitine. These may serve to help restore proper hormone levels in several ways and are needed in large therapeutic doses for a fairly long time. Valine is extremely important n MS and low levels of valine cause problems the myelin sheath over the nerve. This causes degenerative neurological conditions and slows nerve impulses.

The MS patient with food allergies should avoid all caffeine, nicotine, and alcohol. This patient should also implement a Rotation Diet or the G.A.R.D. Diet. NAET is a good way to treat food allergies. It is not an overnight treatment and will require at least 20 to 30 treatments. Diet in order to reduce exposure to food allergens and allow the immune system to go into remission. Environmental toxins and pollutants should be avoided. Drink pure water, eat organic, take multivitamins, get extremely mild exercise, avoid heat, avoid hot tubs, avoid direct sun in hot climates, and get adequate sleep. Your diet should be high in local or organic fruits and vegetables. People with immune system disorders should avoid meat with hormones and genetically modified foods. Do not underestimate the damage that genetically modified foods may cause to those with auto-immune diseases. Try to eliminate all refined foods and carbonated beverages. Try to drink coffee that has been decaffeinated with water by the Swiss Method.

A positive attitude does amazing things for those fighting immune system problems. Visualize yourself healthy and well at least once per day. Ask your prayer group at church to pray for your healing.
